Haweswater – top of the dam

This photograph of the dam end of Haweswater is a reminder that although there was an original Haweswater it was nothing like what we see today. Deep underneath the present day reservoir lie the remains of Mardale village.

Lake District - Haweswater Dam

I took shot after shot … only to discover on arriving home that I’d forgotten to put a film in the camera!
